Beavers Bend State Park Broken Bow Lake covers, mirror-clear water due to its being surrounded by mountains. The lake is not only good for swimming, kayaking, canoeing, wave running, parasailing and paddle boat, but the area is also ideal for diving and snorkeling, thanks to its deep valleys and one-of-a-kind rock formations.
Of course, the lake also offers great opportunities for fishing. Wet your line and see who the biggest black bass, rainbow trout, brownie crappie, catfish or perch catch. Of course, the rainbow trout and brown trout fishing on the Mountain Fork and Glover Rivers some of the best in the country. If you are new to the sport of fishing, the area has many professional guides and outfitters to help you limit your catch and all that you need to have an outstanding fishing experience. Temporary permits are reasonable for those who are just visiting the set area.
The lakes and rivers in the area are not the only attraction in the open, though. The surrounding, curving mountain also expect those who want to breathe deeply the fresh mountain air. Miles of trails for every level of hiker offer breathtaking views and a variety of animals, including migratory eagles, falcons, red shoulders, raccoons, deer, squirrels and, occasionally, black brown bears. For bird watchers, bird watching is excellent in this region. InLift your binoculars and look for Ruby-throated hummingbird, mourning doves, chimney swifts and Bobwhite, chirping songbirds, among many others. Red Slough Wildlife Management Area birders have over 270 different species, including many that are rarely sighted to Oklahoma.
Hiking is not the only way to see the pine forests and mountains, though. In addition, you can have as Native Americans - from horseback. Area Outfitters have holders for any type of driver from experienced beginner to climb so and explore the surrounding area show from a new perspective.
For golf enthusiasts, the 18-hole Cedar Creek Golf Course one of the best seen in Oklahoma. In fact, Golf Digest gave the course a fourth rating 5 out of 5 called it the best Municipal Golf Course in Oklahoma. The course, for its narrow fairways and wooded roughs known winds its way through stands of pine, hickory and oak. The 16th Hole is its signature, that a hole near the island green - virtually surrounded by Broken Bow Lake features. This has also rent cars and club, a pro shop and resident pro.
At the end of the day, you can either head one of the many beautiful Broken Bow's Restaurants, fire up the grill or in your cabin and cook some steaks, burgers, and freshly caught fish. Cabin amenities include also fireplaces, covered patios, whirlpools, fireplaces, satellite television and DVD players. Some cabins sleep up to 20 people, making it the perfect place for a weekend family reunion.
Beavers Bend State Park is also handicapped accessible, credit cards are accepted, offering senior discounts.
